A delegation from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador was welcomed into the home of Lucy Hernández, a Puerto Rican woman married to a Comandos de Salvamento veteran who has been living in North Carolina for several years.

The delegation from Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador traveled to that nation to receive the donation of an ambulance and emergency equipment that will soon be placed at the service of the Salvadoran population.

Lucy and Alexander opened the doors of their home to accommodate the delegation and remember the experiences lived during the armed conflict, when the veteran provided humanitarian services in the 1980s.

For two days, they were hosted and cared for in the home of this couple, who have demonstrated that spirit of service during the more than 60 years since the founding of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.

The Delegation of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador greatly thanked Lucy and Alexander Hernández for their noble gesture, hospitality, and affection shown during their stay in North Carolina, as they continued on their journey to El Salvador.

Lucy, a Puerto Rican national, opened the doors of her home to the delegation of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador.
