José Eduardo Ramírez Fuentes, a volunteer rescuer with the Ciudad Arce section of Comandos de Salvamento, gave his life to the Creator on Wednesday night after saving two people who were victims of a traffic accident in Santa Tecla.
The young volunteer, who had advanced first-aid knowledge, was traveling with his partner toward their home in Ciudad Arce when he saw a traffic accident and got out of his car to help the injured people.
José Eduardo, who had been a member of Comandos de Salvamento for four years, stabilized the victims from the trauma they had suffered in the road accident. Later, Cruz Verde rescuers arrived at the scene to transport the injured people.
Minutes later, the heart of José Eduardo, just 27 years old, began to fail. Cruz Verde rescuers tried several times to revive him from cardiopulmonary arrest. However, José Eduardo had lost the battle.
The young Comandos de Salvamento rescuer left this world doing what he was most passionate about: “serving my fellow man with all my will,” reads part of the Comandos de Salvamento prayer.
May God receive him in His Glory… Comandos forever.
