A pedestrian was struck around noon today near the facilities of the International Center for Fairs and Conventions, CIFCO, where government authorities were holding a press conference.
The victim, a man approximately 50 years old, was attempting to cross the roadway when he was hit by a car whose driver remained at the scene of the incident to determine responsibility.
During the incident, Deputy Minister of Health Operations Francisco Alabi provided medical attention to a man who was struck on Manuel Enrique Araujo Boulevard. He was leaving the conference and was the first person to provide first aid to the victim.
Comandos de Salvamento of Antiguo Cuscatlán arrived at the scene to stabilize the victim and subsequently transported him in an emergency to San Rafael Hospital in Santa Tecla, where minutes later the man lost his battle.
