Comandos de Salvamento began this morning by rescuing several passengers who suffered trauma when the minibus in which they were traveling to El Salvador International Airport in Comalapa was involved in an accident.

At around five in the morning, at kilometer 33, the minibus transporting airline personnel plunged and crashed, leaving at least 9 people injured. Among them are Carlos Montes, 28; Jonathan Mejía, 27; Katia González, 42; Elizabeth Bermúdez, 24; Vitelio Torres, 52; and Karen Velasco, 21.

All the victims were assisted and taken to different medical centers in the capital city.

Hours later, a female motorcyclist was run over this morning on Monseñor Romero Boulevard by a vehicle that fled, leaving the woman lying on the roadway.

Comandos de Salvamento was alerted by bystanders, and rescuers stabilized the woman and transported her to the Social Security hospital in the city of Santa Tecla.

On Agua Caliente Street, a serious traffic accident left at least 6 people injured in both vehicles, which collided head-on and were left partially destroyed.

Comandos de Salvamento assisted the victims, and it was necessary to use two ambulances to transport the patients to the Amatepec Social Security Hospital and Rosales Hospital.

Mr. Carlos Tobar, 67, was assisted after suffering an accident on his motorcycle on Army Boulevard, near a popular shopping center in Soyapango. The victim was admitted to Molina Hospital.

During 2019, approximately 1,406 people died as victims of traffic accidents, the result of more than 20 road collisions.

Therefore, Comandos de Salvamento hopes that the number of traffic accidents will decline, as will the number of fatalities, but drivers must be aware and respect road signs.
