Moments of anguish and desperation were experienced by Jesús Alvarado, a 44-year-old man who fell into an approximately 25-meter ravine in the Municipio of Apopa, San Salvador.

The victim had been missing for 4 days, and his relatives notified the authorities. This morning, he was located at the bottom of a ravine in Urbanización Los Naranjos, in the jurisdiction of Apopa.

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento descended and confirmed that the man still had vital signs, so he was stabilized to begin the ascent and be transported to a medical center.

The victim’s relatives thanked the prompt intervention of Comandos de Salvamento, who brought Jesús Alvarado to solid ground within minutes. “You are angels, thank you very much,” the patient’s relatives said.
