Traffic accidents continue to occur daily, leaving mourning and pain within Salvadoran families.

Comandos de Salvamento responded to a serious accident early this Sunday morning, in which a minibus collided with a tow truck, leaving the minibus driver dead and two people injured.

The Vehicle Rescue Unit arrived at the collision site to use its hydraulic equipment and free one of the drivers, who had become trapped among the twisted metal of the vehicle. Minutes later, the victim was taken to a medical center with multiple traumas.

Meanwhile, a third person, identified as Elías Ernesto Quintanilla, 23, was admitted to San Bartolo Hospital in Ilopango. The traffic accident occurred on the Pan-American Highway near the Apulo Bypass.

Meanwhile, during the morning, two people traveling on a motorcycle were involved in a traffic accident on Calle 5 de Noviembre and Bulevar Federal de Alemania, where Melvin Geovanny Ramírez, 24, and Sara Iliana Aguilar, 26, sustained injuries and were taken to different medical centers by Comandos de Salvamento rescuers.

Meanwhile, on Avenida España, a motorcycle rider suffered serious injuries after colliding with a vehicle.

The young motorcyclist was rushed to the Central Social Security Hospital.

Meanwhile, on Calle Lara in Barrio San Jacinto, José Eliseo Pineda, 29, suffered serious injuries when the motorcycle he was riding collided with the door of a vehicle. The vehicle’s passenger did not notice the motorcycle and caused the accident, leaving the motorcyclist seriously injured.

These collisions add to the number of people killed and injured so far this year, which is why drivers are being asked to respect traffic signs and speed limits.
