CYCLIST CAUSES TRAFFIC ACCIDENT ON LITORAL

Rescuers from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador are responding to a traffic accident on the Carretera Litoral near Comunidad Maira, in the San Nicolás Lempa area.

The road accident occurred when the drivers of two vehicles made a poor maneuver to avoid hitting a cyclist who suddenly entered one of the lanes.

The driver of the pickup truck, who was returning from delivering French bread in Barrio Nuevo of San Nicolás Lempa, collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by a woman accompanied by another person.

Volunteers from Comandos de Salvamento of El Salvador, from the Zacatecoluca branch, stabilized the pickup truck driver, identified as Lemus Monterrosa Delgado, 23, who was trapped among the vehicle’s twisted metal.

The woman and her companion, who were traveling in the pickup truck, were immediately assisted by agents of the Policía Nacional Civil, who transported them to Hospital Santa Teresa in Zacatecoluca.
