More than twenty-five young rescuers carried out their final evaluations this Saturday morning in order to graduate as members of the Vertical Rescue Unit of Comandos de Salvamento.
The volunteers walked from the entrance to Parque Balboa in Los Planes de Renderos to the Puerta del Diablo tourist center, where they will camp to begin the free descents and descents with their respective victims.
Yhony Ramos, the instructor in charge of the new rescuers, stated that the rescuers will camp all Saturday night at the tourist center, where they will have to carry out nighttime practices, as well as the search for and rescue of victims who have already been assigned as part of the training applied in real life.
“We want our rescuers to understand the difficulty of searching for and rescuing people at night, since tragedies do not only occur during the day. For this reason, they must have all the knowledge necessary to carry out rescues successfully,” the instructor stated.
This Sunday, October 19, those who are able to complete all the practices will be able to graduate from the “Yolanda Elizabeth Ramírez” School of Comandos de Salvamento.
