During the first years following the founding of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador, women have been present in the humanitarian services carried out by the institution, and year after year, women have demonstrated that they have a spirit of service to the Salvadoran people.

During the armed conflict, many of the female volunteers of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador came forward to provide their services during various emergencies, with special women’s brigades operating on different shifts.

Women worthy of admiration, since some of them are mothers and leave their children in the care of the father or grandparents so that the female first responders can fulfill their calling to serve others.

The United Nations General Assembly declared 1975 the “International Women’s Year,” and since then, every March 8, a special tribute has been paid to working women, professionals, and above all, those who dedicate part of their time to humanitarian service.

For this reason, the Board of Directors and Executive Directorate of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador wish to thank every female volunteer, nurse, doctor, and rescuer for the effort they provide day after day in service to this institution.

Thank you to every woman of Comandos de Salvamento de El Salvador for the effort you make day after day.
